1 Samuel Sermons
1 Samuel 1
This sermon explores the pain of feeling sidelined and forgotten through the story of Hannah in 1 Samuel 1. Set against the moral decay of the Judges, Hannah endures years of harassment and bitterness over her barrenness. Instead of letting that poison her soul, she pours her honest grief out to God. The beautiful truth is that God hears, sees, and remembers her—and he does the same for us. Even when his timing doesn't make sense, he is never inactive. If you are in Christ, you are not excluded from his redemptive story.
1 Samuel 3
Based on 1 Samuel 3, this sermon explores how God often speaks loudest during our darkest, most uncertain seasons. Rather than reaching out only when life is easy, God calls us when He is shaping our character and preparing us for a purpose. By serving faithfully through difficult trials and submitting to His voice, we position ourselves to hear Him clearly. Ultimately, God is calling you to step in, serve, and discover your true assignment rather than just sitting on the sidelines.
1 Samuel 7
This sermon explores how God allows "messes" into our lives to wake us up and draw us back to Him. Israel spent twenty years in sorrow after using God as a good luck charm and losing the Ark. True turning points require complete repentance and dismantling our "heart idols," rather than halfway devotion. Culminating in victory at Mizpah, Samuel raised an "Ebenezer" stone of help. Today, the ultimate Ebenezer is the Cross, proving God works all things for good.
1 Samuel 2
God is at work, even when we don't see it. His work always is for good. He brings justice and judgement in a way that balances the scales and invites restoration. Eli's sons would not repent. They used their position to their advantage and created a system that profited them at the expense and manipulation of others. God brings judgment. But, we also get a glimpse of how God is setting the table with a plan forward. The little boy Samuel is constantly mentioned in this story as a reminder that God is at work.
1 Samuel 4
This sermon looks at the tragedy of abusing holy spaces through Eli’s corrupt sons, who used their priesthood for personal profit and power. It serves as a warning against treating the sacred casually and drifting into spiritual entitlement. Yet, even in a system broken by leadership failure, God’s judgment balances the scales and initiates restoration. Amidst the decay, the young boy Samuel is repeatedly mentioned—a powerful reminder that God is silently, faithfully at work setting the table for a new future.
1 Samuel 11
This sermon highlights a recurring theme throughout Scripture: God’s profound ability to take our messy circumstances and turn them into a message that glorifies Him. Drawing from the life of Joseph, it reminds us that while the world or our mistakes may intend harm, God orchestrates those very pieces for long-range good. By His grace, He transforms our deep despair into hope, our obstacles into opportunities, and our defeats into lasting, redemptive victories.
1 Samuel 12
This sermon addresses the comforting truth that God’s unchanging commitment to us does not depend on our perfect performance. It explores how human brokenness and spiritual drifting lead to seasons of deep unfaithfulness, yet God refuses to abandon His covenant. Instead of walking away, He responds with overwhelming grace, steadfast patience, and persistent pursuit. It serves as a powerful reminder that our security is anchored entirely in the unshakeable fidelity of a Savior who refuses to let us go.
